Good analysis.
i have a pretty good intuition but i have to admit i am going back and forth on the jw tv may broadcast.
i keep asking myself are they really in financial trouble (wishful thinking) or are they just grabbing for more money?.
i always appreciate reading everyone's thoughts and ideas on here.. let me know what you think.

this saturday is the branch visit of mark sanderson in the selters german bethel.. there will be a video streaming for all the congs.. some of you might have heard branch visit talks of sanderson.. will there be something special or controversial?.
i am not sure if i should attend even if it's just for noting or recording some controversial stuff.
would be hard though, 3 hours of wasted time.
When I said I was thinking of going I was just talking about the local congregation because I believe there is going to be a live video stream. So no Rock Star autograph. Let me see how I feel on Saturday.
As for the big Bethel being built in the UK, I cannot make a valid comment. In the congregation I was in, anything outside the congregations territory was generally not discussed. Theocratic things were also generally not discussed, after all its not really allowed.
One example, I was talking with a group of brothers at a get together and I explicitly said they should all read Mt. 24, and consider every verse in context, and nothing more. One brother talked to me later and said I should not be encouraging the brothers to read the bible on their own.

I cannot go, I don't want to puke on the person sitting in front of me, sorry.
That is something I almost did the last time the CO was in the congregation when he said that the head of a woman is the man and the head of the man are the elders in the congregation and the head of the elders is the GB. He stopped there and left out Jesus and Jehovah.

if a brother is starting to look at material on the internet and starts to have serious doubts about the jw organisation and questions the integrity of the governing body.
what steps would be taken to by the congregation to readjust his thinking.
and also if the congregation is not aware of this but he has confided in an individual how would that individual try to help such a brother?.

Great idea let's do that.

One thing I regret now when it comes to the bOrg's literature, is disposing of much of it a few years ago. My reasoning being that as we now have this information in digital form I no longer need to keep all these books and volumes of Watchtower and Awake. We had them in three languages English, German and French.
I only regret this because doing my research on the past sayings of the bOrg using their publications is a little hampered because the bOrg have been known to change certain controversial things in the digital versions. I do not know how extensive this editing is.
One of the most recent examples is their changing of the January Awake on the misquote of Rama Singh.

I think that anybody who continues to find excuses and defends the bOrg as you do should be clearly "Marked" to use a term that your bOrg uses.

leave the organisation there are leavetakers and then there are apostates
If a child of 5 or 6 is coerced into getting baptized and then realizes when they are 15 or 16 that this is not something they want to do and realized TTATT they will be ostracized by their own family on the orders of the GB.
Anybody who leaves by being disfellowshiped or disassociating themselves are all treated the same.
The difference with apostates is that they want some kind of justice.
Leaving because you no longer believe certain doctrines is one thing, but leaving after realizing that the GB have lied, cheated and use undue influence and very clever mind control techniques to keep you in and still have a hold on friends and family is something else.
heard/saw this 30-second commercial last year - they just started it up again this growing season.. pink songbook memories, anyone?.
